Jerolyn Dirks

Jerolyn Dirks earned a degree in fine arts from the University of California at Los Angeles. She has lived and painted for 17 years on a small farm North of Bozeman, Montana.  Known for her animal portraits and watercolors of farm scenes, Dirks gained national recognition for images licensed to PETsMART Stores, The American Humane Association and Iams Corporation.  Her scenes of Rocky Mountain wildlife painted on large wooden panels are found in both corporate and private collections around the country.

One of her newest ventures features images created on turn of the 20th century ceiling tiles.  “I love the romance of using canvases full of history and intrigue,” says Dirks.  She is also working with copper panels and gold leafing techniques that incorporate the material into the frame as well as in the painting.

Jerolyn Dirks is continually exploring and evolving in her style.  This curiosity and willingness to experiment keeps her work fresh and within the sphere of contemporary western artists of today.
