Tom Eversman, who retired as a Bozeman teacher in June of 1987, was born and raised in Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in painting.
Tom often includes a fishing rod or a hunting rifle along with his paints, brushes, canvas, and his palette and easel, when he heads out to do some painting.
Once primarily a wildlife artist, Tom has broadened his focus toward the more abstract interpretive style of landscape “field studies.”
“I go along until I see something I like,” says Tom. He paints familiar images such as Ennis Lake, Pass Creek, the Bridger Mountains and more. His collection of field studies is primarily of the Gallatin Valley. He enjoys painting outdoors at the scene, often returning to a site more than once to finish a painting.
Tom has won two first-place awards in the Ducks Unlimited National Wildlife Art Show in Kansas City, MO. This is just one of his many accomplishments.
