Growing up in Montana has allowed me to develop a strong sensitivity to the natural world. It pleases me when I can take something that is often overlooked and point out its significance. To paint the softness of clouds or the calmness of a pond, I must experience it on site. I love painting outdoors and having direct interaction with my subject. All the colors, shapes and values are there for my choosing! Having painted for over 30 years in watercolor and oil, I still find interpretation of the scene before me and the expression of what I want to convey a challenge with each new painting. Study with other artists is stimulating and helpful. Recent study under impressionist painter Robert Moore has fueled the fire to more experimentation and serious evaluation of the work I produce. My work is currently represented in Ennis at the Hole In The Wall Gallery and in Bozeman by Framework Designs in the Bridger Peaks Towncenter. Each year my daughter and I host a studio showing of our new work.
