Asha Murthy MacDonald
For nearly 2 decades Asha Murthy MacDonald has participated in juried art exhibitions, charity auctions, quick draws, public art installations and has received representation from galleries nationwide. Asha has also worked as the head of costume design and production for the Virginia City Opera House since 2004. While she has enjoyed much success costuming as well as marketing a line of her own handmade handbags, painting remains her primary focus. A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts has enhanced a painting style and repertoire, which continually expands to include figurative and natural modes of realism. As a resident of Virginia City, Montana, her work has evolved to capture the grandeur of her surroundings.

"I am constantly observing weather patterns, clouds and light as it falls from the sky onto the landscape. But I am a studio painter  - my paintings don't always reflect reality, but rather what my memory translates. A perfect world perhaps - safe places for the mind to rest."
